ABOUT
Lydia is a London based editorial lifestyle, portrait & travel photographer who trained at Central St Martins School of Art, (UAL) on their post graduate professional photography program in the magical darkroom days of film, chemicals, and wonderment.
Previously, Lydia studied Illustration at Liverpool John Moores University followed by a coverted Pg Certificate in Illustration course at Central St Martins, UAL. She then worked ten years as a published Illustrator and Art Editor for well-known publications in the UK and overseas. On returning from Sydney to London Lydia successfully gained a place to study photography at Central Saint Martins, UAL.
Since 2003 Lydia has been commissioned for high profile magazines and books photographing people and locations for editorial features, design and books, mixing reportage with location lifestyle images, portraiture, and narrative still life.
Lydia’s past experience as a magazine Art Editor greatly assists her with styling on the spot on editorial location shoots, and visualising the types of image combinations that will narrate the story within the feature with the ability to capture a sense of a place or livelihood.
'Highly professional and endlessly creative, Lydia Evans has produced just the right images for our projects. The books have truly benefitted from her involvement - the photos are eye-catching and perfectly arranged.'
